Although Ralph got his first camera, an Ansco TLR, when he was a child, he started getting serious about photography in the mid-1960s, while in the Army. He has been photographing a variety of subjects ever since, and has done some commercial work and scored a couple of magazine covers over the years. Now retired in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, he mostly shoots B&W film, 4x5 and 8x10, but also uses digital and smaller formats for color work. He concentrates on landscapes and historically-significant sites these days, but does the occasional portrait or artistic nude when a model knocks on his door.
